Weekly Food Waste Collection to Start from 30 March 2026

From the week commencing 30 March 2026, residents will receive weekly food waste collections. The new service is part of the Government’s Simpler Recycling initiative, which is being rolled out across the country.

    The service will be:

    • Free to all residents
    • Nationally funded
    • Designed to reduce the amount of food waste going into landfill

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the scheme and separate their food waste for collection. For further details, check the council’s website.
