The first snow of the year fell overnight, blanketing the city in white and marking the official arrival of winter weather.
Snow began accumulating in the early hours of the morning, covering cars, rooftops, and streets with a thin layer of white. By dawn, the entire city had been transformed by the seasonal change.
The Met Office had issued weather warnings for the region, forecasting potential travel disruptions. The snowfall, while lighter than initially predicted, was enough to create slippery conditions in some areas.
The snow is expected to taper off by evening, but temperatures will remain below freezing overnight. Weather forecasters indicate that further snow showers are possible later in the week as a cold front continues to affect the region. Temperatures are expected to stay well below seasonal averages for the next several days.
This marks the first measurable snowfall of the winter season.
