Cambridgeshire Police’s Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) had a packed weekend tackling rural and wildlife crime across every corner of the county.

The specialist unit, which focuses on protecting rural communities, wildlife, and farmland, carried out a range of operations including vehicle seizures, theft recoveries, wildlife protection, and support for victims of crime.

    Countywide Activity Highlights

📍 Peterborough – Officers visited a gamekeeper near Barnack experiencing anti-social behaviour, and patrolled along the Cambridgeshire–Lincolnshire border.

📍 Fenland – A stolen dumper truck was recovered near Thorney Toll, following a report from a Cambridgeshire Countryside Watch member.

📍 Huntingdonshire – The team carried out farm visits, dealt with a violent offender in Yaxley, and provided support to an elderly burglary victim in St Neots.

📍 East Cambridgeshire – Officers seized vehicles linked to crop damage near Prickwillow and Soham, as part of ongoing investigations.

📍 South Cambridgeshire – The team seized five vehicles involved in hare coursing incidents across Balsham and Childerley, and recovered a stolen vehicle connected to a burglary in Rampton.

📍 Cambridge City – Patrols were carried out along the River Cam in response to historical reports of wildlife attacks.
