Two women have died in hospital following a serious two-car collision on the A10 near Chittering. Cambridgeshire Police confirmed the fatalities occurred days after the crash, which took place at approximately 16:45 GMT on 28 December.
The incident involved a silver BMW and a white Nissan Qashqai. The driver of the Nissan, a 53-year-old woman from Ecton, near Northampton, died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital on 30 December. Her passenger, a 47-year-old woman from Duke Street, Northampton, passed away on 1 January. A passenger traveling in the BMW was treated for minor injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the BMW, a 54-year-old man from Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. He faces potential charges including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drug driving, and possession of class A drugs. He has been released on bail until 27 March as the investigation continues.
