A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman at a property in Cambridge.
Jon Ismaili, 33, of School Lane, Waterbeach, has been charged with killing 23-year-old Catalina Birlea, whose body was discovered at a house in Chesterton Road on 2 October.
Ismaili is due to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court this morning (9 October). A forensic post-mortem took place yesterday (8 October), with the cause of death to be confirmed following histology and toxicology tests.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary confirmed the investigation, codenamed Operation Solarium, remains ongoing. Officers are continuing to gather evidence and have been carrying out searches in the area.
